My two year old grandson Cy, lives in Waterville, ME. with my son, Charles, and his wife Laura. I live in Massachusetts, so we don't get to see each other that often. They always come down Christmas, and I get up at least once in the summer.
When he was born, I made him, a couple of quilts. One was embroidered blocks of bears and bunnies. The embroidery took too long for my taste. I made a mistake on the border. Where it met at the corners, I should have joined it diagonally. Thought of that too late. I can't remember what the other quilt was. At 79, I am allowed to be forgetful.
Last Christmas, seeing that he was nearing two years old, I thought I would make him a twin size quilt. I found a Ships at Sea pattern on About.com. Christmas day he ignored all presents, but loved the bannana box we carried them up in. He sat in it and played with an old favorite toy.
